On this DS9 the brackets have been polished and used to support solid maple treads, which is also used for the carved handrail atop the stainless balustrading.
This stair sits in a well with glass brick windows. The triangular landing reflects the shape of the well itself and gives the top of the stair a nicely balanced aesthetic.
