This monolithic stair is built around a steel stringer and centre pole with plywood panelling to form the balustrade. The treads are formed from steel and plywood then carpeted. The sculpted shapes created by the soffit are reminiscent of an orchid while the panelling on the sides creates a ribbon winding up to the ceiling.
