Treads

The radius and taper of the treads
is largely dictated by the building regulations (see BS 5395 Part 2). Treads typically fall into five categories: laminated beech, solid hardwood, composite timber, glass and acrylic.

Timber from sustainable sources is used wherever possible. Tread thicknesses vary with the diameter of the stair and the material used. In addition to the plain top tread, a variety of finishes and alternative nosings are available
